Helpert She entered the world singing, began on piano and found the guitar by age 11, on which she settled. She began performing and recording in her teens; studied Americana and avant garde jazz at the Berklee college of music in Boston as a guitar principal and later indigenous music at Naropa University in Colorado (2000).
Helpert has performed in over 200 venues and written hundreds of compositions.
In 2008 she was the country of Bemuda's musician-in-residence. In 2003 she was recipient of Denmark's Art Council's Resident Grant.

She recently finished her 6th record, released on Barcelona, Spain's label Whatabout Music. Helpert performs the work of Billie Holiday and other heirloom vocalists of American jazz worldwide. She teaches a progressive and technical modality of voice/composition to conservatories and in her home studio. She lives between Europe and The US
Helpert is an avid “inkest” and sells her artwork though select galleries and by individual commissions.
Leslie has been commissioned to write the music for Midsummer Night's Dream by English Theatre Group of Barcelona and will also be accompanying the performances for April 4, 5 and 6 with celliss Erica Wise at the Lluïsos Teatre in Barcelona. Helpert is recipient for Danish Art Council Grant, 2013: audio visual composition project.

At just 11 years old, Leslie Helpert began playing the piano, guitar and singing. She studied avant-garde American jazz at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and at Naporra University in Colorado. She has performed in more than 200 venues and has composed hundreds of songs. She has just recorded her sixth album at the Whatabout studios in Barcelona. She often pays tribute to American jazz singers such as Billie Holiday in her concerts and is a teacher of singing and composition.
He lives between Europe and the United States, spending long periods in Barcelona where he has performed at the Palau de la Música alongside Ismael Dueñas.
Next Saturday, September 6, she will offer a solo concert at Can Monroig accompanied only by her guitar where we will be able to appreciate the talent and personality of this American singer.

Can Monroig. House-architecture and interior design studio restored by Marie-Noëlle Ginard and Robert López Hinton. It regularly offers dance, theater, music and other cultural activities through the Can Monroig Cultural Association.
